Ulju County in Ulsan announced that the 2025 Ulju Marine Leisure Festival will take place on July 19 and 20 at Jinha Beach in Seosaeng-myeon.
Now in its fourth year, the festival brings together marine sports enthusiasts from across the country with a wide range of participatory programs, from competitive events to family-friendly activities.
The festival begins on the 19th with a survival swimming competition involving around 300 participants.
That evening, a special concert featuring popular artists such as Kim Hee-jae, Ahn So-mi, Kim Sung-hwan, and Min Young-ah will be held on the main stage.
The night will conclude with a fireworks laser show and drone performance along the beach near Myeongseon Island.
On the 20th, over 650 athletes are expected to compete in the national aquathlon event. Categories include 100m swim and 400m run for elementary students, 200m swim and 1.6km run for middle schoolers, and 1km swim and 5km run for adults.
Other notable attractions include a ssireum (Korean wrestling) match where visitors can challenge members of the Ulju Haetteumi Ssireum Team in the “Find the Ulju Champion” contest.
A green-themed camping program will also be held at the Ulju Marine Leisure Center, accompanied by busking performances, movie screenings, and a photography contest.
Free marine leisure activities such as surfing classes with professional instructors, kayaking, speedboat rides, and banana boat experiences will also be available to the public throughout the festival.
