To coincide with the 64th Tongyeong Hansan Battle Festival, the Tongyeong Cable Car will offer nighttime operations on August 8 and 9, allowing visitors to take in panoramic views of the city after dark.
The nighttime service will run with ticketing at the lower station available until 9 pm, and final rides from the upper station concluding at 10 pm.
From the upper station, guests can view Gangguan Harbor and the illuminated skyline of Tongyeong, a city recognized for its scenic night views.
A fireworks show, titled Tonight Tongyeong, Fireworks Show, is scheduled for August 9 and will light up the waterfront and night sky.
Selected in 2022 as South Korea’s first designated “night tourism city,” Tongyeong continues to develop evening attractions such as the digital park Dipirang and new nightscape installations at Samdo Naval Command Headquarters and Seopirang.
This year’s festival runs through August 14 and includes a variety of nighttime events aimed at highlighting the city’s unique charm after sunset.
