The 51st Jang Bogo National Rowing Competition will take place from May 31 to June 8 at the Seonakdong River Rowing and Canoeing Stadium in Busan.
Established in 1975 to honor General Jang Bogo and promote Korea’s maritime heritage, the event is regarded as the country’s most prestigious rowing competition.
This year’s event features 620 participants from across the country, competing in 79 categories from 20 different teams.
The competition is divided into two segments: professional athletes will race from May 31 to June 2, while amateur and recreational rowers will compete from June 7 to 8.
Events include eight-man boats, single sculls, coxless pairs, and indoor rowing, with awards given to the top three finishers in each category.
The overall winning teams will receive the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Award and a championship trophy.
