The 2025 Busan International Pole Vault Competition will take place over two days from June 13 to 14 at a special outdoor stadium set up at Gwangalli Beach Park.
This unique single-event track and field competition, approved by the Asian Athletics Association (AAA), is the only international pole vault meet in Korea.
Athletes from 15 countries, including 50 top male and female vaulters, will compete against the scenic backdrop of the Gwangan Bridge and Busan’s coastline. All events are open to the public free of charge and will be broadcast by Busan MBC.
The schedule includes the U20 Junior Men’s Division on June 13 at 2 p.m., followed by the Adult Women’s Division on June 14 at 4 p.m. and the Adult Men’s Division at 8:10 p.m.
The junior division features strong contenders such as Kazakhstan’s Maxim Balabin, Australia’s Alex Abu Snaef, and the USA’s Kai Anderson.
In the women’s division, defending champion Olivia Gross from Australia will compete alongside Korean athletes Im Eun-ji, Jo Min-ji, and Bae Han-na.
The men’s division includes Korea’s record-holder Jin Min-seop, Japan’s Mashiki Ejima, and Australia’s Charlie Myers.
In addition to the competition, visitors can enjoy special evening events such as the ‘Gwangalli M Drone Light Show’ and live performances.
Audience engagement events and giveaways are also planned to enhance the festive atmosphere.
