Lotte Department Store’s Busan Main Branch is aggressively expanding its pop-up store space after seeing a significant sales boost tied to trend-focused temporary shops.
The pop-up zone on the first basement level has grown to 595㎡, following the recent addition of 264.5㎡ near its existing location.
Since opening its initial pop-up area in April, the store has recorded sales nearly three times higher than the same period last year.
This success has prompted Lotte to strengthen its pop-up marketing strategy, targeting the MZ generation with a rotation of popular lifestyle, fashion, and character-based brands.
Current pop-ups running through June 19 include Grocery Stuff, Betty Boop, Loop Loop, Penfield, Monstercon, and Kuoka.
The newly expanded area will focus on cultural content, with upcoming pop-ups featuring idol-themed brand Minive (June 20–29) and a large-scale Pokémon event set for next month.
