As the summer shopping season heats up, department stores are turning to large-scale, first-in-the-region pop-up stores to draw in younger visitors.
Shinsegae Centum City has opened the region’s first “Lookism” pop-up store on the first basement level of its event hall.
Based on Naver’s mega-hit webtoon “Lookism”, which has been serialized since 2014 and boasts over 10 billion views, the pop-up follows the success of similar events in Seoul and Tokyo.
Last year’s Seoul edition drew over 40,000 visitors in just 12 days, making it a major cultural draw.
The Busan pop-up is themed around the webtoon’s main character exploring the city.
Fans can enjoy webtoon animations, try out interactive games, and leave messages of support in the experience zone. A dedicated photo zone adds to the immersive appeal.
Exclusive merchandise is also available, including items like the BUSAN training outfit, Cheonryang Black setup, Jinrangpa ring, and dress-up doll keychains, allowing fans to see their favorite webtoon styles brought to life.
The pop-up runs through July 31, with reservations available via KakaoTalk or on-site, and each booking allows entry for up to two guests.
