Cool Off This Weekend at Seoul’s Nanji Beach Water Festival

Looking for a fun, refreshing staycation in the city this weekend? Head over to Nanji Beach in World Cup Park on August 2 and 3 for a family-friendly summer water event hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

The two-day festival, titled 2025 Nanji Beach Water Showdown: Find the Water Heroes!”, promises splashes of excitement for all ages.

To help residents beat the summer heat, the event will feature giant water slides, large swimming pools, misting zones, and interactive water games. Children can dive into the action from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the main water play area.

The larger pools are designed for elementary-aged children, while toddlers can enjoy mini pools and cooling mist zones.

To ensure safety, lifeguards will be on site and water zones will operate in 45-minute intervals with 15-minute breaks. Each session allows up to 50 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.

From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., the “Water Olympics” section will host three rotating games per day. On Saturday, families can join challenges like “Fishing King,” “Nerve-Wracking Water Relay,” and “Shoot and Catch Water Gun Battle.”

Sunday brings back “Fishing King” alongside “Splash Relay” and the whimsical “Leaf Boat Regatta.” Participants can register on-site before each event.

Between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on both days, visitors can explore hands-on booths offering face painting and a cicada water gun craft activity. Guests are encouraged to bring an empty PET bottle to take part in the water gun-making fun.

A special SNS photo event will also be held. Attendees who post a photo from the festival with the official hashtag will receive a limited-edition “Haechi and White Tiger” keyring from the 2025 Haechi’s Summer Garden series—available to the first participants while supplies last.

The event space will be fully equipped for comfort and safety, including beach umbrellas, sunbeds, shaded rest zones, and changing rooms. To help prevent heat-related illnesses, Seoul City has installed additional canopies throughout the festival grounds.

Since parking is limited, attendees are strongly encouraged to use public transportation.
