Starting August 1, Seoul City will enhance public transportation access to four key Han River ferry piers—Magok, Mangwon, Apgujeong, and Jamsil—by introducing or adjusting eight city and village bus routes.
The goal is to improve convenience ahead of the Han River Bus launch scheduled for September.
Three new bus routes, including the 6611 to Magok Pier and the 7716 and 8775 to Mangwon Pier, will begin operation. Route 8775 will function as a commuter-only “custom bus” during weekday peak hours. Five additional existing routes will be adjusted to connect more effectively to the Apgujeong and Jamsil piers.
The city will monitor ridership, operating hours, and passenger demand to optimize schedules before the official ferry service launch. Each pier will also be supported by nearby public bike rental stations, “Ddareungi,” located within a three-minute walk, with additional stations planned for Yeouido and Oksu piers.
To improve transfer efficiency, Seoul will launch a special edition of the “Climate Companion Card” that includes ferry access, offering integrated fares across subways, buses, and shared bikes. The city emphasized its commitment to continuously reviewing and improving transit options for seamless river transportation.
