After six long years, the Children’s Water Park at Samrak Ecological Park is reopening, much to the delight of families across Busan.
Closed since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the earlier shutdown of Hwamyeong Ecological Park, the west Busan area has experienced a significant lack of public outdoor water play facilities.
Recognizing this gap, Busan City stepped in, allocating over 4.15 billion won to fund the restoration and operation of the park in cooperation with Sasang District.
The revitalized water park has been completely transformed into a comprehensive family-friendly facility.
It now includes three swimming pools, a “water lily” floating stream feature, three inflatable air slides, a large tube slide, and four smaller pools designed especially for children, including a bubble pool, a rotating sled pool, a climbing pool, and even a water soccer area.
Beyond just play areas, the park also offers several shaded resting zones and amenities for family comfort. These include a 40-meter-long cooling shelter, large tents, 50 Mongolian-style tents, as well as restrooms and shower rooms.
To ensure a safe and pleasant experience for all, the park will operate three timed sessions per day from July 26 to August 24, except Mondays when the park is closed for maintenance.
Sessions run from 10:00 to 12:00, 12:30 to 14:30, and 15:00 to 17:00. Each time slot allows up to 1,500 visitors, and all children must be accompanied by a guardian. The park is completely free to use.
Access to the water park is available by online reservation and on-site registration.
Pre-registration can be made through the official website wlsland.com, allowing up to 1,000 reserved spots per session.
An additional 500 spots will be available each session on a first-come, first-served basis at the site.
Parking is provided at the Samrak Cultural Plaza and a nearby temporary lot.
