How to Get Tickets to the Busan Concert Hall Opening Performance

Busan Concert Hall, the city’s first classical music-exclusive venue, will hold its official opening ceremony and commemorative performance on June 20, marking a significant addition to Busan’s cultural infrastructure.

The opening ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the main entrance of the concert hall with a pre-ceremony performance by 8-year-old violinist Lee Ji-an, followed by commemorative and congratulatory speeches.

The outdoor event will be attended by approximately 300 guests, including local officials and members of the public.

At 7:30 p.m., the indoor commemorative performance will commence with a program themed around Beethoven.

The concert will feature Triple Concerto in the first part and the Choral Symphony in the second, with Busan Concert Hall Artistic Director Myung-whun Chung both conducting and performing as pianist.

Roughly 1,600 attendees are expected, including those involved in the hall’s development, selected citizens, and guests from the arts, business, and civic communities.

Citizens can apply to attend through the Busan City website by 6 p.m. on June 9. A total of 200 applicants will be selected via lottery and sent mobile invitations, allowing each to claim up to two tickets on the day of the performance.
