If you’ve lived in Busan for a long time, you may have never known the difference between the U.S. chain Pei Wei, and the Korean-version PeiPei.
Back in 2016, Pei Wei, the second brand of the globally popular P.F. Chang’s Inc. opened at Shinsegae, but after a couple of years, the restaurant surprisingly slightly changed names though everything else about the restaurant remained almost the same.
That being said, Pei Pei, with two locations in the city — at Shinsegae Department Store in Centum and Lotte Department Store in Seomyeon — is an affordable, fast-casual dining option for those looking for some Southeast Asian fare.
It serves Asian fusion dishes, everything from noodle bowls to rice dishes, spring rolls, and light appetizers.
Most dishes come from Southeast Asia, including Singapore crab, Phad Thai from Thailand, Mongolian beef, Vietnamese Pho, and some also come from Hong Kong and the menu also does change often giving diners more chances to experience other unique options.
It has been recognized for offering value-for-money portion sizes and even includes a kids’ menu while also being designed to appeal to solo diners and small groups alike.
Dishes run from about 9,000 won to 15,000 won and they also offer a few set menu options to give you a little variety.
The portion sizes are quite generous given the price, which has made this eatery a popular option among shoppers.
