A record-breaking number of films have been submitted to the April finals of the 32nd Busan International Short Film Festival, according to a staff member of the Festival organizing committee.
Results of accepted applications for the International Competition category show a total of 4278 works from 114 countries, nearly double the submissions compared to last year.
It follows the submission deadline of January 9th.
The number of Asian films submitted was 429 from 19 countries, nearly triple the 155 works from 16 countries last year.
Newly created this year, the Korean Film Competition category was also popular, with a total of 481 works entered.
