Netflix is reinforcing its dominance in the streaming industry with an extensive lineup of Korean content in 2025, including the highly anticipated “Squid Game” Season 3, the return of “Culinary Class Wars,” and the launch of “Physical: Asia,” featuring boxing legend Manny Pacquiao.
At the Next on Netflix 2025 Korea event, the streaming giant introduced its slate of seven films, 11 series, and seven entertainment shows produced in Korea.
With a strong focus on variety programming, Netflix aims to expand its audience engagement through reality and competition-based content.
The fitness competition “Physical: 100” evolves into “Physical: Asia,” where teams from different Asian countries, including Pacquiao representing the Philippines, will battle for supremacy.
The culinary showdown “Culinary Class Wars” is also set for a second season after ranking first in Netflix’s non-variety category for three consecutive weeks. Additionally, star producer Na Young-seok will debut an original variety show later this year.
Korean original series and films remain central to Netflix’s success. The highly awaited “Squid Game” Season 3 is slated for release on June 27. Another anticipated series, “When Life Gives You Tangerines,” starring IU and Park Bo-gum, is expected to draw significant attention.
In cinema, Netflix is set to release seven Korean films, including “Revelations” by director Yeon Sang-ho, produced by Oscar-winner Alfonso Cuarón. Other highlights include “Mantis,” a spin-off of “Kill Boksoon,” and “The Great Flood,” featuring Park Hae-soo and Kim Da-mi.
Netflix will also introduce its first Korean animated film, “Lost in Starlight”, starring Kim Tae-ri and Hong Kyung as voice actors.
