The city of Busan announced the official opening of the BIFF-FOREST Indoor Garden on May 22 inside the Busan Cinema Center (Film Archive), unveiling a unique green space that blends nature, culture, and technology.
Themed after the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), BIFF-FOREST symbolizes the festival’s continued growth, like a forest thriving in an urban landscape.
The garden features two signature spaces: the “Breathing Vertical Garden”, standing 8 meters tall, Busan’s tallest indoor green wall, and the “Forest Garden of the Sea”, inspired by the coastal views of Haeundae and Jangsan, complete with silver sand and ambient night lighting.
Designed with input from top designers and supported by the Korea Forest Service, this garden also integrates smart signage using NFC technology, offering interactive access to plant information, design concepts, and more.
Located in one of Busan’s most iconic cultural venues, BIFF-FOREST aims to be a serene, photo-friendly retreat where film meets forest.
