    What are Korea’s 7 Biggest Earthquakes?


    Last week’s 5.4 magnitude earthquake in Pohang was the second biggest earthquake in recent memory on the peninsula.

    The recent rise in earthquakes in Korea has created concern in the country as three of the top seven earthquakes in recent record, including the top two, have occurred in the past two years.

    Here are the seven biggest earthquakes in Korea.

    1. 5.8 – Gyeongju, Gyeongbok, September 12, 2016
    2. 5.4 – Pohang, Gyeongbok, November 15, 2017
    3. 5.3 – Seobu, Euiji, Pyeongbok, January 8, 1980
    4. 5.2 – Euljin, Gyeongbok, May 29, 2004
    5. 5.2 – Sokrisan, Chungbok, September 16, 1978
    6. 5.1 – Gyeongju, Gyeongbok, September 12, 2016
    7. 5.1 – Taeungun, Chungnam, April 1, 2014
