The Seoul Global Startup Center (SGSC) is pleased to announce the opening of applications for its 3rd Batch Startup Incubation Program. Designed to provide support for foreign entrepreneurs and startup teams with foreigners in Korea, the government-sponsored program offers a range of benefits, including office space, seed funding, education, and more.
Launched in 2016 by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the center was designed to provide support and services for foreigners residing in Korea, as well as boost Seoul’s profile as an international business capital. Since its inception, 77 businesses with participants hailing from 33 countries have participated in the incubation program.
Those chosen will be given free residency at the center in Yongsan for a twelve-month period between May 2018 and April 2019. On-site support will include office space, approximately 10 million won in seed funding, expert training and consultation, and more.

Eligibility extends to all foreigners with valid residency in Korea. Eligible startup businesses are those that are less than three years old with at least one decision-making foreigner on the team. Startups must also be able to transfer their business address to the center with two months of moving on site.
Startups that do not receive Resident Membership can also apply for Access Membership, which offers free coworking space, startup lectures, and monthly networking opportunities.
“The Seoul Global Startup Center offers foreign residents everything they need to get their startups off the ground,” said Seoul Metropolitan Government Director of Digital Enterprise Park Tae-joo. “I look forward to witnessing the birth of new, successful startups run by foreign entrepreneurs through our program” he added.
