2025 Sangju Silver Sand Festival to Celebrate Community and Nature

The 2025 Sangju Silver Sand Festival will take place at Sangju Silver Sand Beach and the nearby Songnim pine forest on Saturday, July 12 in Namhae.

Organized by the Sangju-myeon Residents’ Autonomy Association under the slogan “Memories on the Sand, Sangju Becoming One,” the event aims to promote community unity and local tourism.

Centered around Eunmosae, a distinctive natural sand formation unique to the region, the festival highlights local identity while encouraging participation from both residents and visitors.

The festival opens with a performance by the Sangju Eunmosae Band, followed by a barefoot walking event and a public awareness program at the beach.

Traditional village games such as Yutnori, Tuho, and Seoksa will take place in the Songnim area, fostering community spirit through friendly competition.

Additional highlights include a singing contest featuring local residents and tourists, and a treasure hunt in the pine forest.

Hands-on activities will be available throughout the day, including sand sculpting, kite flying, water sports, and traditional games such as jegichagi, ttakjichigi, and tug-of-war. Students from nearby schools and attendees can participate through advance registration or sign up on-site.

The festival will also include booths selling local specialty products, along with food trucks and vendors offering a variety of dining options.
