Tongyeong City participated in the Korea Night Festival held on July 5 in the Jemincheon and Gamyeong-gil areas of Gongju City, operating a night tourism promotion booth to highlight its unique offerings after dark.
The Korea Night Festival is a nationwide initiative organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, along with ten designated night tourism cities.
The event series aims to raise public awareness of domestic nighttime tourism destinations and encourage longer visitor stays.
Each city hosts a local version of the festival on a rotating basis, with Tongyeong’s own edition set for July 26 at Gangguan Port.
During the event in Gongju, Tongyeong introduced visitors to its nighttime attractions, travel packages, and infrastructure, positioning itself as a premier night tourism destination.
The promotional booth showcased scenic night views, illuminated coastal landmarks, and other after-dark activities available across the city.
The city also highlighted its summer tourism appeal, including island destinations like Bijindo, Yokjido, and Hansando, as well as its rich culinary culture and the upcoming 64th Tongyeong Hansan Battle Festival.
The campaign aimed to strengthen Tongyeong’s reputation as a vibrant summer destination for both day and night travel.
