Namhae County Launches Free Public Wi-Fi on All Rural Buses

Namhae County has completed the installation of free public Wi-Fi on all 25 rural buses operating in the area, with full-scale service beginning in July.

This initiative aims to reduce communication costs and improve digital accessibility for residents and visitors. Passengers on board can now access the internet freely while in transit, creating a more convenient and connected travel experience.

The service is expected to benefit a wide range of users, including elderly residents traveling to hospitals and town centers, students commuting to and from school, and tourists seeking real-time information during their visits.

The county worked with rural bus companies from early June to install the necessary Wi-Fi equipment in all vehicles and completed test runs and safety checks by the end of the month.

To use the Wi-Fi, passengers simply need to open the ‘Settings’ menu on their smartphones, select ‘Wi-Fi,’ and choose the network labeled ‘Public Wifi Free’—no password required.
