Gimhae City announced that city bus fares will increase starting August 1, marking the first hike in over five years.
Fares will rise by 200 won for adults and 100 won for teenagers and children, following a decision by Gyeongnam Province’s Consumer Policy Committee.
The adjustment reflects increased labor, fuel, and maintenance costs affecting public transportation operations.
Despite the fare hike, the city will continue to offer free rides for seniors aged 75 and older using the Gyeongnam Pass and children aged 12 and under with a transportation card.
Adult fares will rise to 1,700 won in cash (1,650 won with card), and teen fares will increase to 1,100 won in cash (1,050 won with card).
Children’s fares will go up to 850 won in cash.
The fare policy will be applied across all 18 cities and counties in Gyeongnam Province.
