The city of Busan will host the “75th Anniversary Korean War UN Veterans Memorial Service” at 9 a.m. this morning at the UN Memorial Cemetery in Nam-gu.
The ceremony honors the sacrifices and dedication of UN soldiers who fought in the Korean War and serves as a reminder of the war’s tragic history.
Approximately 2,300 participants, including Mayor Park Heong-joon, local officials, citizens, and students, are expected to attend.
The program includes a moment of silence, floral tributes, a commemorative speech, and a chorus of the Korean War memorial song.
A highlight of the ceremony will be a special aerial tribute by the Republic of Korea Air Force’s Black Eagles team, paying tribute to the fallen with a memorial flyover. A rehearsal flight is scheduled for June 24.
The annual event, organized by the Busan branch of the Korean Freedom Federation and supported by the city, has been held at the UN Memorial Cemetery since 1998.
