Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon met with Joseph Yoon, Acting U.S. Ambassador to South Korea, on July 9 at The Westin Josun Busan to discuss strengthening cooperation and mutual development between Busan and the United States.
During the meeting, Mayor Park emphasized Busan’s vision to become a global hub city across five key sectors, logistics, finance, emerging industries, cultural content, and international tourism, and requested continued U.S. support and interest.
Ambassador Yoon, impressed by the city’s transformation since his last visit 15 years ago, noted Busan’s strategic importance on the Korean Peninsula and expressed his expectations for enhanced exchanges and collaboration, particularly in areas like shipbuilding and infrastructure.
