Busan Police announced that the new Suyeong Police Station will open on August 5. It will be the city’s 16th police station.
The first chief will be Kim Hak-jin, who currently leads the preparation team. Suyeong-gu District, home to tourist spots like Gwangalli Beach, had no independent police station.
Its areas were split between two stations, causing confusion for residents and officials. The new station will align police jurisdiction with the district’s boundaries.
It’s located near Suyeong Historic Park. About 421 officers will work there, organized into 8 departments.
Officials expect better, more efficient police services for residents.
