The city of Busan announced that from July 14 to December 31, a section of Gwangan Bridge (in the direction from Yongho-dong to Centum City) will be partially closed due to construction work linking the bridge to a newly built ramp.
One of the three lanes will be closed to secure a safe work zone, affecting approximately 480 meters from the Centum City underpass and 160 meters before the ramp.
The ongoing project, now 80% complete, is part of the city’s effort to ease traffic congestion in the Centum City area of Haeundae-gu.
The work includes the demolition of existing connection panels, installation of new joints, application of special concrete (LMC), and installation of safety facilities. The city expects the project to be completed and open to traffic by the end of 2025.
To minimize inconvenience to drivers, Busan City will provide real-time updates through traffic information boards and Busan Traffic Broadcasting.
