Gyeongnam Province and the Gyeongnam Tourism Foundation have officially launched a new lineup of marine tourism products designed in collaboration with local businesses to invigorate the region’s tourism sector.
The programs began full-scale operations on July 21, offering unique experiences across Tongyeong and Namhae.
Part of the province’s Marine Tourism Product Development Support Project, these offerings were crafted following a rigorous selection process in May. Expert consultations helped shape the final itineraries and product designs, boosting the competitiveness and sustainability of local businesses in the marine tourism market.
The products are centered on experiential content that engages all five senses, allowing visitors to explore the distinctive maritime culture of Gyeongnam.
From yacht tours to island life experiences, each program is tailored to reflect the character of its region, with three local tourism companies participating.
In Tongyeong, Irang Cooperative operates:
-
Namhae Same-Day Tour, which visits top attractions in Namhae
-
Wise Island Life: Manjido Edition, a stay-type package offering immersive experiences with island residents, including hands-on seafood gathering.
Ocean Breeze, also based in Tongyeong, presents Yacht Plogging, a single-day eco-friendly program that blends yachting with plogging (collecting litter while walking).
April Moby Dick Lab offers the family-oriented Little Captain’s Sea Exploration, a stay-type tour that combines night cruises and child-friendly activities like pinwheel making.
The provincial government expects these programs to revitalize local tourism and create a sustainable tourism model by strengthening partnerships with small and mid-sized businesses.
Details and reservations can be found on the Gyeongnam Tourism Foundation website under ‘Notice Board – Event Information.’
