Tourist activity is on the rise at Namhae’s Mulmi Coastal Observatory in Samdong-myeon and the Seolli Skywalk in Mijo-myeon, both operated by the Namhae-gun Tourism and Culture Foundation, as travelers seek out coastal experiences during the summer season.
The Mulmi Coastal Observatory offers panoramic 360-degree views of the sea and features the Cliff Walk, a glass-bottomed pathway suspended above the coastline. Visitors can also take part in hands-on activities, such as making customized key rings from bottle caps.
The Seolli Skywalk presents a striking architectural feature—a 36-meter-high asymmetrical cantilever bridge extending over the ocean. A highlight for many visitors is the Sky Swing, which provides an open-air ride with views of the surrounding seascape.
“These spaces go beyond simple sightseeing,” said Kim Yong-tae, CEO of the Namhae County Tourism and Culture Foundation. “They offer meaningful experiences for visitors and serve as places where residents and tourists can connect through shared appreciation of Namhae’s natural beauty.”
The Seolli Skywalk is open daily year-round, while the Mulmi Coastal Observatory operates from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and is closed on Tuesdays.
Both sites continue to offer unique vantage points and experiential activities that blend local character with immersive tourism.
