겸사겸사
사 in 겸사겸사 means ‘work’, or ‘job’, and 겸사겸사 means ‘for more than two kinds of work/errands at the same time‘.
ex)
A: 여기 왜 왔어? 오늘은 안오는 줄 알았는데. (Why are you here? I thought you wouldn’t come today.) B: 그냥 겸사겸사 들렀어. (Just dropped by to take care of some stuff.)
Possibly this expression is used more often when the person does not want others to know the reason(s) to be there.
A: 혹시 영미 보러 오신거예요? (Did you come here to see Yeong Mi?) B: 아니. 근처에 일도 있고, 겸사겸사 온거야. (No. I have to do something around here, and I came by for a few things.)
