Seoul Plaza Ice Rink successfully concluded its 52-day season on February 9, attracting a total of 169,978 visitors.
This year marked the rink’s 20th anniversary, continuing its tradition of offering affordable winter fun at just 1,000 KRW per session.
The ice rink saw a 14% increase in daily average visitors, rising from 371 last year to 423 this season.
The number of foreign visitors more than doubled, from 20,049 to 38,097, reinforcing its status as a must-visit winter attraction in Seoul.
To accommodate international tourists, the city integrated the rink into the Discover Seoul Pass and collaborated with major travel agencies to develop package deals.
Beyond skating, this season featured diverse programs in collaboration with the Seoul Winter Festa, including an E-sports promotional booth, a Haechi mascot event, and special Lunar New Year celebrations. Additionally, affordable beginner skating lessons were offered for 30,000 KRW, receiving an enthusiastic response from visitors.
Looking ahead to the 2025 season, Seoul plans to enhance convenience for foreign visitors by improving the online reservation system and expanding winter festival programs.
The Seoul Plaza Ice Rink is set to reopen on December 19.
