The Lotte Giants have solidified their foreign player lineup for the 2025 KBO season with two key signings: left-handed pitcher Tucker Davidson and a contract renewal with star ace Charlie Barnes.
New Addition: Tucker Davidson
Lotte has inked a deal with Tucker Davidson (28) worth $950,000, including $850,000 in guaranteed salary and $100,000 in incentives.
Davidson, a left-handed starter, brings an imposing presence at 188 cm and 97 kg. With over 600 innings in the minor leagues under his belt, he has a record of 30 wins, 44 losses, and an ERA of 3.22. Davidson is known for his versatile pitching repertoire, including fastballs, sliders, curveballs, and splitters.
Expressing his excitement, Davidson said, “I am happy to join a great team like the Lotte Giants. I will do my best to help the team win in any way I can and look forward to communicating with my teammates to achieve our goals.”
Returning Ace: Charlie Barnes
The Giants have also re-signed Charlie Barnes (29) for a fourth season. His renewed contract totals $1.5 million, including $1.35 million guaranteed and $150,000 in incentives.
Over 86 KBO League games, Barnes has notched 32 wins, 28 losses, and an ERA of 3.42.
Notably, he has exceeded 150 innings for three consecutive seasons and ranked 4th in WAR among pitchers for the 2024 season, underscoring his stability and impact.
“Barnes has been the team’s main starting pitcher for three seasons, showing consistent and outstanding performance,” said Team Manager Park Jun-hyeok. “His loyalty and exemplary attitude toward baseball make him a role model for his teammates. We expect him to remain a cornerstone of the team next season.”
Barnes expressed gratitude and excitement, stating, “I’m thrilled to be with Lotte for my fourth season. I look forward to reconnecting with my teammates and fans soon. I deeply appreciate Coach Kim Tae-hyung for believing in me and General Manager Park Jun-hyeok for his professionalism during the negotiations.”
Completing the Roster
With Davidson’s signing and Barnes’ extension, the Giants have rounded out their foreign player lineup. This follows the re-signing of Victor Reyes, the 2024 KBO League’s hit leader, in late October.
