The 2025 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO professional baseball season will open on March 22 at 2 p.m. in five stadiums across the country.
The opening matchups include Lotte Giants versus LG Twins at Seoul’s Jamsil Stadium, Doosan Bears versus SSG Landers at Incheon’s SSG Landers Field, Kiwoom Heroes versus Samsung Lions at Daegu’s Samsung Lions Park, Hanwha Eagles versus kt wiz at Suwon’s KT Wiz Park, and NC Dinos versus KIA Tigers at Gwangju’s KIA Champions Field.
Over a seven-month schedule, the 10 teams will play a total of 720 games, primarily in three-game series, with adjustments for rain delays and unscheduled matches. The All-Star Game is set for July 12 at the new Hanwha Life Ballpark.
For the Lotte Giants, who missed the postseason for seven consecutive years, the season is a fresh start under championship-winning manager Kim Tae-hyung.
Opening day starters include Charlie Barnes for Lotte and native ace Park Se-woong.
New rules are also in place to shorten game times: pitchers must deliver a pitch within 20 seconds with no runners (25 seconds with runners on base), and batters must be at the plate within 33 seconds—otherwise, penalties will be enforced.
Extra innings will now be limited to 11 innings.
