Preparations for the upcoming 106th National Sports Festival and 45th National Paralympic Games, set to take place in October and November 2025 are ramping up.
On March 28, a comprehensive preparation status meeting was held at City Hall, chaired by Mayor Park Heong-jun and attended by around 50 officials from city departments, district offices, the education board, police, and sports associations.
The city reviewed all aspects of hosting the events, including athlete and spectator safety, accommodations, transportation, meals, publicity, stadium readiness, and the opening and closing ceremonies.
Special attention was given to ensuring accessibility, with an emphasis on creating a safe and inclusive environment for both disabled and non-disabled participants.
Busan will host the National Sports Festival from October 17 to 23 at 82 venues across the city, featuring 50 events. The National Paralympic Games will follow from October 31 to November 5, with 31 events across 38 venues.
Three new stadiums are scheduled for completion before the events, along with renovations of six existing venues.
