NC to Host Three-Game Series at Sajik Stadium Following Safety Concerns at Changwon NC Park

The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) announced that the three-game series between Lotte Giants and NC Dinos, originally scheduled to take place from April 11 to 13 at Changwon NC Park, has been relocated to Sajik Stadium in Busan.

The change follows the death of a spectator at Changwon NC Park on March 28, prompting urgent safety reviews.

NC Dinos initiated an emergency safety inspection on April 1 and began a week-long internal review the following day.

Concurrently, a joint task force composed of Changwon City officials, the Changwon City Facilities Corporation, and NC Dinos began a separate two-week inspection. Additional time may be needed for repairs if issues are identified, making it difficult for NC to use its home stadium during the current KBO schedule.

Lotte and NC considered several alternatives, including a neutral venue, a match without spectators, and game cancellations. Eventually, the teams agreed to hold the series at Sajik Stadium, which the KBO approved.

The April 11 game will be classified as an NC home game, with NC receiving 72% of the ticket revenue and Lotte 28%. Other operational matters, including food and beverage concessions, remain under discussion.

It remains unclear whether future NC home games, including those scheduled from April 15 to May 1, will also be moved to Sajik Stadium.

The KBO stated it will announce decisions regarding those games at a later date.
