Busan will once again host one of Asia’s premier professional tennis events as the 2025 Busan Open International Challenger Tennis Rally takes place from April 13 to 20 at the Geumjeong Sports Park Tennis Courts.
Now in its 25th edition, the tournament is recognized as one of the highest-level events in the ATP Challenger circuit, classified as a Challenger 125 tournament.
Sanctioned by the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) and organized by the Korea Tennis Association and Busan Open Organizing Committee, the event brings together a strong international field.
A total of 80 professional players from 30 countries will compete, including 11 Korean players and 69 from overseas, all vying for a share of the $200,000 prize pool.
The tournament kicks off with preliminary rounds and main draws in both singles and doubles from April 13 to 19, followed by the finals on April 20 at 11:00 a.m. The matches will be played on outdoor hard courts, and spectators can attend all matches free of charge, making it a prime opportunity for fans to experience high-level tennis in person.
This year’s Busan Open will feature several standout players, including Korean national team members Kwon Soon-woo (ATP No. 440), Nam Ji-seong (ATP Doubles No. 121), and Gerard Campana Lee (ATP No. 397).
They will be joined by top international contenders such as Adam Walton (ATP No. 86), Christopher Eubanks (ATP No. 110), and Emil Ruusuvuori (ATP No. 226), promising a competitive and exciting tournament.
The event, which has been held annually since 1999, has grown into a key fixture on the ATP Challenger Tour and serves as a vital stepping stone for players aiming to break into the sport’s elite ranks.
