The Changwon LG Sakers have won their first championship since the team’s founding in 1997, ending a 28-year wait with a dramatic victory that resonated deeply with the citizens of Changwon.
On May 17, LG defeated the Seoul SK Knights 62-58 in Game 7 of the 2024-2025 KBL Championship at Jamsil Students’ Gymnasium, winning the series 4-3.
This marks the team’s first title in its third championship finals appearance.
Known for its unwavering hometown loyalty, LG is the only KBL team that has never changed its parent company or home city.
