The construction permit for the ‘Hyundai Premium Outlet’ (tentative name) in Eco Delta City, Gangseo-gu, has been approved.
Once completed, this will be the largest Hyundai outlet in Korea. With its opening, Busan will become the only city in Korea to host all three major domestic outlet brands—Lotte, Shinsegae, and Hyundai.
The outlet will cover 86,015㎡ and feature one basement level and four above-ground floors.
The approval process, which typically takes around two months, was expedited to just two weeks through active coordination with relevant agencies.
Authorities prioritized fast-tracking the process to boost the stagnant local construction industry and enhance the commercial infrastructure in Eco Delta City, which currently lacks retail facilities.
Construction is expected to begin around September, with operations targeted for 2027.
Hyundai Department Store plans to invest approximately 700 billion won to introduce an innovative retail platform. The company aims to strengthen its presence in Busan by integrating the newly renovated ‘Connect Hyundai’ in Beomil-dong with the upcoming premium outlet.
With Hyundai Premium Outlet’s opening, all major domestic outlet brands will have a presence in Busan.
Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlet, which debuted in Gijang-gun in 2013 as the city’s first premium outlet, underwent a significant renovation in September last year, expanding its sales area by 1.5 times and adding 100 new brands, leading to a noticeable increase in sales.
Lotte Premium Outlet Dongbusan Branch, which opened in the Osiria Tourist Complex in Gijang-gun in December 2014, recorded the second-highest sales among 35 domestic outlets last year, generating 750.2 billion won, narrowly trailing Shinsegae Yeoju Premium Outlet’s 795 billion won.
