As South Korea continues to make waves on the global wellness stage, WellMi Wellness will lead the charge through a series of carefully curated events across Gyeongsangnam-do, Chungcheong-do, and Gangwon-do, promoting holistic health, mindfulness, and community well-being.
WellMi Wellness, a leader in global wellness hospitality, is spearheading countrywide efforts for World Wellness Weekend 2024, from September 20th to 22nd, as part of a collaborative effort with regional wellness providers to further establish South Korea as a premier destination for global wellness tourism.
Embracing Wellness: A Weekend of Diverse Activities
The weekend will feature a variety of wellness activities designed to engage participants in physical, mental, and spiritual well-being practices. Under the guidance of WellMi Wellness CEO and World Wellness Weekend Ambassador, Laura McLuckie, a diverse curation of wellness events is set to take place across the country.
Economic Growth, Wellness Demand
Up-to-date figures show that South Korea’s wellness tourism market was valued at approximately $5.43 billion in 2022, and it’s growing steadily due to increasing demand for health and wellness experiences, such as temple stays, hot spring bathing, and traditional Korean medicine treatments.
This growth is part of a larger trend in South Korea’s overall wellness economy, which reached a total valuation of $113 billion in 2022. This includes various wellness sectors, such as public health, traditional medicine, and wellness real estate, with wellness tourism seeing strong growth at 11.3% annually.
These developments position South Korea as a rapidly emerging player in the global wellness tourism industry, with both domestic and international travelers increasingly drawn to its unique blend of traditional practices and modern wellness innovations.
