On June 13, Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) will host Resonance at Night, a special evening performance that blends traditional Korean percussion with immersive laser and sound art, offering audiences a multisensory media art experience.
Presented as part of the Resonance of Reality and Virtuality exhibition by artist Yoon Je-ho, the event will take place from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the DDP Design Lab (3rd floor), featuring a live performance and an artist talk.
In the first part of the event, Yoon will share insights into the exhibition’s themes of “resonance,” “technology and sensation,” and “reality and virtuality,” exploring how intangible elements like light and electromagnetic sound generate emotional responses. Since its opening in April, the exhibition has received strong praise, especially among younger audiences.
The second part will showcase an audiovisual performance by Yoon and traditional percussionist So Kyung-jin, combining live traditional rhythms with modern laser visuals and electronic sound. The result is a layered performance where ancient beats interact with futuristic technology, turning the entire space into an instrument.
The event is free with advance registration available via the DDP website or official social media channels. Attendees can expect an immersive experience where sound, light, and movement converge, challenging the boundaries between tradition and modernity.
