Seoul Opens ‘FIUM SEOUL,’ the City’s First Public Premium Wedding Hall

Seoul will officially open ‘FIUM SEOUL’, its first public premium wedding hall, on July 1 as part of the city’s “More Beautiful Weddings” initiative to support affordable and meaningful ceremonies for engaged couples.

Located within Seoul Women’s Plaza near Daebang Station in Dongjak-gu, the remodeled venue features state-of-the-art facilities, including advanced lighting and sound systems, a large LED screen, and a modern, elegant interior that can accommodate up to 200 guests. It is Seoul’s first dedicated indoor wedding space created specifically with weddings in mind, not converted from existing meeting rooms.

The name ‘FIUM SEOUL’ was selected through a public contest and symbolizes the “blooming moments of a new life.” Operated by the Seoul Foundation of Women and Family, it will serve as a flagship location for the city’s growing public wedding program.

FIUM SEOUL offers stylish amenities such as a remodeled lobby for receptions, a bride and VIP waiting room, catering prep spaces, and even access to a public kids’ café next door, making it family-friendly. The lighting system allows couples to create customized moods, and digital displays can project videos and music for a personalized experience.

Couples living in Seoul—or with one partner residing or working in the city—can reserve the venue free of charge through the “More Beautiful Weddings” website wedding.seoulwomen.or.kr, or by calling 1899-2154. In addition, eligible couples can receive up to 1 million won in equipment support.

To celebrate the opening, the city will host a special event offering two couples with children under 18 a completely free wedding, including venue rental, makeup, dress, and floral arrangements worth approximately 3 million won. Applications will be accepted online from June 27 to July 15, and winners will be announced on July 22.

FIUM SEOUL is the first of many planned public wedding venues. Seoul aims to increase the number of indoor public wedding halls from the current five to 25 by 2030, and operate a total of 65 public wedding spaces, including cafés, parks, performance halls, and cultural centers.
