The Seoul Metropolitan Government is bringing back its popular nighttime cultural program, Culture Snacks at Night, with special events planned for Friday, July 4.
Aimed at offering citizens cultural escapes during the hot and humid monsoon season, the program turns eight city-run cultural venues into evening destinations each Friday.
Highlights for July 4 include:
-
Seoul Museum of History will present a themed magic show by magician Moon Jun-ho at 7:00 pm, blending stories of “Seoul,” “Friday,” and “night.”
-
Seoul Museum of Craft Art will host a shadow puppet theater performance by artist Kim Chang-beom, combining puppetry and mime in a visually rich show.
Visitors can register in advance via the Seoul Public Service Reservation website for a chance to win special gifts like Seoul-themed merchandise and traditional scarves. Walk-ins are welcome, and on-site events are also available.
Other weekly Friday programs throughout July include:
-
Seoul Library will hold travel-themed book talks every Friday from July 11 to 25.
-
Hanseong Baekje Museum will feature a lecture by archaeologist Lee Han-yong on “Life in Ancient Times” on July 11.
-
Unhyeongung Palace will offer cultural storytelling sessions every Friday from July 4 to 18.
All events under Culture Snacks at Night are free of charge. More information is available on the Seoul Culture Portal under the “Seoul at Night” section.
Additionally, Seoul continues its Nighttime Performance Pass program, offering high-quality theater performances in Daehangno for just 10,000 won—a fraction of the usual ticket price. This month’s lineup includes:
