A massive electronic billboard overlooking Haeundae Beach will begin broadcasting promotional media next month, as Haeundae-gu pushes forward with plans to transform the area into a landmark media zone.
The 25-meter wide and 31-meter tall screen, installed on the wall of the Grand Josun Busan hotel, will begin operating on June 20 with a video titled “A Special Day in Haeundae”, showcasing major attractions in the district.
The opening ceremony will take place at 8 p.m.

The space beneath the screen, newly named Terrace 292, has been designed as a cultural venue where visitors can view media shows and attend events tied to the broadcast content.
In addition to the billboard, Haeundae-gu is planning to install a large media tower at the Haeundae Beach Event Plaza and 14 media poles along Gunam-ro. These projects are pending approval from the Busan City Landscape Committee and Outdoor Advertisement Review Committee, with construction targeted for next year.
Since being designated as Korea’s first non-metropolitan outdoor advertisement free display zone in 2023, the area, renamed Haeundae Square, has been developed with the goal of becoming a media landmark on par with Times Square in New York City.
